Fred The Dog
Fred the Dog was originally created by artist, Harri Lake, while she was living in Los Angeles. What began as a personal project to amuse close friends soon took on a life of its own. Harri was never sure whether this was due to the heat of the Californian sun, the free-wheeling lifestyle or one too many Mohitos.
The original paintings, inspired by the many people Harri met in L.A. (who dreamed of being someone other than themselves), were an homage to her favourite Hollywood icons, such as Marilyn Monroe and Charlie Chaplin. However, as Fred’s personality grew, later works were created digitally. Now there is no limit to what he can do or who he can be.
Fred represents a joyous expression of the limitless creative potential within each and every one of us. His aim is to explore the idea of identity, defy the limits of stereotypes and recognise the power of dreams. His purpose is to amuse, challenge, entertain and amaze
